New Year....New Job !
10 March 2011
A number of clients, when first introduced to us have withdrawn from society, find it difficult to communicate and are not able to deal with basic daily living skills without daily support within our services. After a mutually agreed support plan is drawn up, some client's ultimate goals are to find their place in "normal" society again and return to either adult education or to return to work and lead an independent life.
One such client struggled for many years with their mental health issues & the unfortunate stigma it brought with it, however, with sheer determination to achieve their goals, despite setbacks, we are so happy to report that they have finally secured a permanent, full-time job and have just completed their first week. This is an enormous achievement for this client & we wish them every success in the future.
We are also happy to report that again, another client, who lacked the confidence to undertake work placements or volunteering, despite the desire to, has been able to come to our offices and help out with some general admin duties and is looking forward to coming back next week to help out again. We hope this leads to them being able to volunteer in the community and also enable them to have the confidence and ability to secure a job in the future.
We also have a number of clients who in working towards paid employment are currently undertaking voluntary work in local businesses and are enjoying and making the most of the experience.
If you have any vacancies for volunteers or would be able to give a short presentation to our clients on the positives of volunteering - please send details through our Contact page.
