Our dedicated women’s service first opened in 2004. This modern facility is almost unique in South London and places are much in demand. It’s a Supporting People service operated by Bridge and one of our long standing housing partners, social landlords L&Q. Together we provide both the homely environment and the professional support to help our clients along the way to living more fulfilling lives.

Each client has the reassurance of their own Assured Shorthold Tenancy with L&Q and daytime staff they can call on for support seven days a week. Soon after they move in, we help each client make their own personal support plan which sets out clear needs and goals. A Bridge keyworker supports the client to help them achieve their personal goals and liaises with other agencies and health professionals that may be involved to ensure a cohesive, high quality service. We provide regular group events that are designed to build social skills and confidence. The current activities include a walking group, a weight management club and a swimming group. Many more are planned, based on suggestions from our clients.

We consult clients regularly on all kinds of matters that affect their daily lives to help us improve our services and prepare them for the move to independent living. Length of stay in the women’s facility varies considerably from a few months to a few years, depending on the needs of the individual.
